Thndr, which recently topped the FT ranking of Africa's fastest-growing companies, is a mobile-first digital investment-trading app that is driving changes in Egypt’s investment culture. The platform is often described as the "Robinhood of the MENA region" because of the way it has completely transformed how everyday citizens interact with financial markets.
Thndr is democratising access to wealth-building in the Egyptian market through Thndr Securities Broking Company, which is a member firm of the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Regulatory Authority. The company is registered with a registration number (no. 804).
However, details about Thndr are not the primary reason this article was created. The main reason why we are here is to enlighten you on how to withdraw your money from your Thndr account without hassle. But it is important to let you know that a fixed fee of 2.5 EGP will be charged when making a withdrawal on the platform.
Another thing you should understand is that when you complete the withdrawal request, the processing will be completed by the following business day. In addition to that, funds can only be withdrawn once they are fully settled into your withdrawable account.
But, for the money to settle inside your withdrawable balance, it will take two business days from the execution of a sell order. This is part of a T+2 policy that we'll give an in-depth explanation about it below. Just keep reading. Now that you've understood all these, let's dive into the tutorial:
How to withdraw money from your Thndr settlement account
Follow these steps to withdraw your money from Thndr to your bank account or mobile money wallet once your sell order is processed.
- First of all, you need to open your Thndr mobile app and navigate to the "Wallet" section on the app.
- Under the wallet menu, tap the withdraw icon (→) and choose your currency. The only available currency at the time this article is published is the Egyptian Pound (EGP).
- After selecting your preferred currency, tap "Wire Transfer" and choose your preferred payout method (e.g., bank transfer, prepaid card, or mobile wallet).
- If you're withdrawing to a bank account, enter the bank account details (including the IBAN, account name, bank name, and account number). If it is a mobile money wallet, then you will need to input the mobile wallet number into the designated space.
- Next, enter the amount you wish to withdraw. But make sure that it is equal to or less than your withdrawable balance after substrating the 2.5 EGP transaction fee.
- Now, confirm your transaction details and click "Send" to complete the withdrawal. Withdrawals are processed in the next working days (T+1 rule).

Final Notes
The most common point of confusion for new Thndr users is the difference between your total wallet balance and your withdrawable balance. You cannot always withdraw money immediately after selling a stock due to stock market regulations.
First of all, you need to understand that there is "T+2 Settlement Rule" that are guiding withdrawal on stock investment platforms. Thr T+2 settlement policy states that when an investor sells a stock on the EGX, the liquidated asset does not settle for withdrawal.
So, instead of allowing investors to withdraw instantly when they liquidate their assets, they will have to follow the standard T+2 rule (transaction date + 2 working days). That is to say, it will take 2 business days for the asset from a stock sale to officially settle and become available for withdrawal.
However, the liquidated asset will show in your account balance from the day you sold it. But you will only see it move to your "Withdrawable Balance" after those 2 working days have passed. Also note that weekends (including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and official market holidays do not count as working days.
Once you actually submit a withdrawal request for your settled cash, Thndr processes the request on the next working day (T+1). If you are a subscriber to their premium tiers (like ThndrX), certain accelerated processing options or fee structures might differ, but the baseline fee for standard users is 2.5 EGP.
So if your withdrawal is unsuccessful, there is unsettled cash, KYC verification is not complete, there is a name mismatch or there is an insufficient balance when the transaction charge is added.
