How to create and design OPay POS banners
As I explained in my previous article on Moniepoint POS banners, agents typically use these banners to market their POS businesses in their respective areas, signaling that they offer financial inclusion services. In this article, however, I'm focusing on banner creation and design for the OPay platform. So if you're an OPay agent, read this guide from start to finish because I made it specifically for you.
OPay POS Banner Design
First of all, I want you to know that OPay agent signage banners are free, and anyone who brings one to your shop for a fee should not be entertained. In fact, OPay has repeatedly warned agents that signage banners are provided free of charge, and has told agents not to pay anyone for them or fill out forms requesting personal or business data in connection with banner requests.
This is the example of OPay signage banner:

With that being said, let's proceed to the practical breakdown for designing your own OPay POS banner.
Standard sizing
The first thing you need to know when designing a banner for your OPay POS business is the size. Because it is a roadside (flex) banner, it should be 3ft x 2ft or 4ft x 3ft, designed in portrait or landscape orientation depending on where you plan to place it. You can also build it with a stand or a rope, depending on whether you want it to stand upright or hang.
File format
File format is another thing to keep in mind. When designing a banner for print, you should save it as a PDF or high-res PNG/JPEG, at 300 DPI and in CMYK color mode. Many printers can handle any of these format well without compromising your design.
What you should add to the banner
When designing the banner, it's essential to include the green/white OPay logo at the top or center, making sure it's large and unmistakable. Another thing you should add to the banner is your business name and the services you offer: Cash Withdrawal, Cash Deposit, Airtime & Data, Bill Payments (electricity, cable TV), and Bank Transfer.
In addition to that, you should also add your contact information, such as phone number and address (or landmark). I would also recommend adding your payment QR code if you're designing a hangable banner, because it can easily be scanned by customers to make payments. You can also add a tagline, something like "Fast, Secure, Reliable Payments," to spice the banner up.
Tools for designing the banner
- The first designing tool I will recommend you use is Canva. I choose Canva be it has POS/banner templates that will make it easy for non-designers to successfully design a professional POS banner. To use it, just search "POS banner" or "agent banner" in the Canva app and you can choose from the list of options that pop out.
- CorelDRAW, Figma, and Adobe Illustrator are other tools I would recommend. Figma has pre-built templates you can use, but with CorelDRAW, you'll need to build your banner from scratch, which requires some design skill.
Conclusion
In conclusion, make sure that the banner you're designing stick to OPay's brand colors. I mean that green and white combo, so people can recognize your banner at first glance. In addition, make your texts are bold, high-contrast, and in a clean sans-serif font so it's readable even from a distance. Don't try to cram too much in, four or five lines of text is plenty, as long as it's big enough to read from 10 feet away or more. And if you want to give it a more personal touch, throw in a real photo of your storefront or stand; otherwise, a clean OPay-branded template will do the job just fine.
