If you wish to visit South Africa for tourism, business or a short-term visit, the country's eVisa system, which was launched in 2024 and is now fully operational in 2025, now simplifies visa application processes for you. The South African eVisa is an electronic visa system designed to simplify the visa application process for travellers visiting South Africa for tourism, business, or short-term visits.
So, if you're a businessman, tourist, remote worker, freelancer, or digital nomad, the South African eVisa and digital nomad eVisa now allow you to apply online without needing to visit a South African embassy or consulate in person. The online application process typically takes about two weeks and has a fee of roughly ZAR 370 (approximately $25 USD).
The Ministry of Home Affairs, led by Minister Leon Schreiber, continues to oversee the eVisa framework under the minister's reforms. The ministry also has plans to implement an AI-driven system and enhance group processing to promote tourism and draw skilled professionals.

Nevertheless, the specific validity period date will be clearly stated on your approved eVisa.
Conclusion
