It's likely not possible to delete your transaction history on OPAY. In fact, no bank or fintech company allows it in Nigeria, as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) forbids it. The only things you can do with your transaction history on the OPAY app are view it, download it, and manage it.
However, it's important to note that OPay customer service cannot delete your transaction history even if you request it. The only way to stop tracking is to close your account. While you cannot delete transaction history in your OPAY app, you can clear the SMS alerts from your phone. You can also delete the push notifications sent by OPay.
How to Generate Statement of Account on OPAY
Follow these steps to easily check, generate, and download your OPAY account statement:
- Log in to your OPAY app and click on “Transaction History” at the top of the wallet balance.
- Click on “Download” and select your preference, including setting time frame, date, email address, account, file type, and whether your address should appear on top of the statement.
- Once the form is filled, click on “Continue” and enter your transaction pin.
- The account statement will be forwarded to your email address within 2 hours.
